Old Perth Blended Malt Scotch Whisky, made by Morrison Scotch Whisky Distillers, has this week released their latest limited edition – Old Perth PX. This whisky has been ageing in a mixture of Oloroso and PX Sherry hogsheads and butts for its entire life, and for the past 15 months has been mellowing in first-fill Pedro Ximenez casks from Bodega José y Miguel Martin, Spain. Fifteen casks were chosen to bring balance and complexity to the whisky.
Old Perth Scotch Whisky is created by Morrison Scotch Whisky Distillers using a small selection of distilleries from the Speyside region of Scotland as the source of their mature single malt whisky. The final vatting and marrying is conducted at their facility in Aberargie, Perthshire, giving them full control over the quality of the liquid used for blending. This ensures that the whisky spends the entire time in the best wooden casks.

Niel Hendriksz, Sales Director at Morrison Scotch Whisky Distillers, said:
“Our commitment to the Old Perth range has always been to make the highest-quality blended malt scotch whisky, through the exclusive use of fully sherry matured liquid. Through our limited edition range, we look to further highlight the influence that different types of sherry can have on whisky and we are delighted with the results of PX maturation, producing a velvety texture with raisins, dates and candied fruit leading into dark chocolate and cocoa.”
Old Perth PX is limited to 7800 bottles at an APV of 56.2% and is now available to purchase from major drinks retailers across the UK priced at £58.00.
