The 2023 edition of The Irishman Vintage Cask, created by Walsh Whiskey, is now available in the US, Canada, Ireland, France, the UK, South Africa, and Asia. 8,400 bottles have been created, with 1,200 bottles allocated to the US, and the remaining 7,200 destined for other countries. This is the 15th annual release of the whiskey since its launch in 2008, when it was the first triple-distilled cask-strength Irish whiskey to be released in over half a century.
Bernard Walsh, CEO of Walsh Whiskey, said: “The Irishman Cask Strength is a labour of love. This blend of purely premium, aged single malt and single pot still, recreates one of Irish whiskey’s greatest 19th-century traditions, which The Irishman first brought back in 2008. This year’s proud offering is bottled at 55.3% ABV. The 2023 edition of The Irishman Vintage Cask is a strong, complex and inviting exploration.”
Upon tasting, one can detect aromas of orchard fruits, vanilla and nuts, followed by peach, apple blossom, fig and honey on the palate. The finish is described as being full of oak spices and toasted almond flavours.
