Highland Park Releases 54-Year-Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Highland Park, Orkney-based distillery, has unveiled its most aged release yet: the 54 Year Old single malt Scotch Whisky.

With only 225 bottles available, this limited edition whisky was crafted by Master Whisky Maker Gordon Motion and was initially laid down in 1968. After fourteen years of maturation in ex-sherry casks, the whisky was bottled and is now available in the UK from Berry Bros. & Rudd and The Whisky Shop, with an RRP of £39,000, on 23 February 2023.

Along with the specially embossed bottle of whisky, each purchase includes a unique presentation box crafted from Scottish oak wood and an invitation to attend a once-in-a-lifetime experience in Orkney.

The box, designed by John Galvin, is sculpted to represent the cliffs of Yesnaby in Orkney, and each piece of wood was hand-blasted to create a unique variation in colour. The glass bottle was created by Michael Rudak of Stoelzle Flaconnage.

The design of the bottle has been carefully crafted, taking inspiration from the mash tuns at the distillery and the old red sandstone of Yesnaby Cliffs. The textural design is meant to evoke the image of lava slowly flowing from the seabed and forming Orkney’s islands.

This 54 Year Old release is a fitting way to celebrate Highland Park’s 225th anniversary and to find out more about Highland Park visit: www.highlandparkwhisky.com
